Magazine Cover, Contents Page, and Article

For this project i created a fictional magazine and designed a cover, contents page and two 2 page spreads containing the article.  I did this by using Adobe's InDesign program.  I had a lot of fun with this project because of the subject matter I chose.  I love giant squid and I was really able to be very creative in designing my spreads, cover, and especially contents page which is my favorite.  i hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed creating them!

Book Cover/Spine/Back-Dream Gates: A Journey Into Active Dreaming

I designed this book cover, spine, and back for a book about Dreaming and how to best interpret the dreams people experience on a nightly basis.  I wanted some uniformity so I used similar pictures for the front and back covers.  I used some different effects with bright colors because I thought the style went well with the content of the book.

Project 1-USU ART 2400

These three images are pictograms that I created using Adobe Illustrator CS5.  They are all related in a couple of different ways.  First is the fact that the images all contain some type of animal, and second that the message in all three of them is keeping lids down to keep animals safe or to prevent these creatures from harming humans.  They could all function as signs but I decided they looked best without a defined shape confining them.  I really enjoyed creating these pictograms, and I literally spent my entire weekend working on them.  Hope you enjoy!

Final Traced Collage

This image is my final version of the collage I made.  I traced the image and filled the resulting shapes with grey, white, and black tones.  I took a screen shot on Illustrator, so sorry for the blank page behind the image.

Original collage

This is the original collage I made from some previous photographs I shot.  I wanted to combine these K9s with some industrial-type images I shot.
